AAMCO Transmissions and Total Car Care of Beaumont, Texas has been associated with Jonathan Sherman of Sherman Management Team since February of 2008.
We initially contracted with Jon to work in our center to train a service advisor and assistant. Jon spent a week of intense training that covered customer reception, sales scripting, callback sales procedure, overcoming customer objections, production scheduling, car delivery, and customer follow up. During this process Jon was able to make recommendations to our work flow process which increased production efficiency and added dollars straight to the bottom line. After our week of training Jon continued to support our Service Advisor by phone.
Selling transmissions proved to be more difficult than general auto repairs. We then contracted with Jon to sell all our customer pay transmission sales and the associated general repairs that were required. Jon was able to increase customer pay transmission sales 2018 over 2017 by 64% and to date Jon has increased average retail per unit by 50%. This amount also has a direct impact to the bottom line. Jon has also increased our average number of weekly units by 1 to 1 ½ units. Jon is an excellent closer and is not high pressure but works as an adviser to the customer and helps them make good decisions in an area that customer has little experience.
Jon also continues to support our current Service Advisor with mentoring and any assistance with any difficult sales or production issues. Jon is uniquely set up to handle our phone calls, sales, and scheduling remotely. He does such a good job customers never question that he is not in our center. Jon has proven his ability to manage to the point that I have given him free reign in contacting our technicians should he ever need to question any recommendations they may make or in some instances, NOT make.
Jon has given me the ability to run my shop as an absentee owner. He monitors daily the customer reviews and has many industry contacts from parts supplier to technical assistance. He is truly an asset to our business that prior to our association with us we were unable to find that individual to fill this much-needed duty.

I have known Jonathan for roughly 15 years. For 12 of those I was working for AAMCO Transmission’s home office as an operations manager or center specialist. The last three years have been as an owner of my own center.
When I first met Jonathan he was part owner of a few centers down in South Florida and making a name for himself as one of the best outside salesman in the AAMCO chain. It wasn’t long before he was selling his centers and working on his real passion, which was helping other centers.
When I was the operations manager in Florida, Jonathan made my job very easy because I knew whatever market he was working in at the time I could count on to put up good numbers. Jonathan and I talked back and forth over the years helping each other out in whatever role we were in the system at the time.
When I opened my center in Gainesville I reached out to him immediately because I knew if there was anyone that could help me make my center successful it was Jonathan. We did close to 1 million dollars our first year out.
One of the first times I met Jonathan I was covering a center for him in south Florida. I have never been in a more meticulously clean and organized center in my life. It was a money making machine. There was a system for everything and it was all designed to make the most money with the best customer experience. That’s when I knew I met someone that was really just scratching the surface of his potential.
When Jonathan told me his business plan I told him he should use my center as a test center. I knew he was going to blow this thing out of the water and of course he did.
To this day Jonathan is still my go to guy with whatever I need for my center. Whether it is covering my center, the phones, sales, disgruntled customers, increasing gross profit, managing workflow, managing the center remotely, training a new employee, I know I can count on him.
I was the number one floater for the home office, working for Mike Ganjei and the all top dogs and I can tell you with confidence that there is nobody else I would trust to do the numbers I can do except Jonathan. As the Director of Operations for Mister Transmission, I was tasked with creating and
implementing a new and refreshed Sales Training Manual and Course. I was introduced to Jonathan as someone who could assist me in developing a plan. It wasn’t long before Jonathan and I where engrossed in bring a new sales procedure to life. He is indeed a team player and very generous with his time and his knowledge.
We had worked together building the sales process and training program for a short time, when an opportunity came about to bring in a large group from our Network to test what we had been developing. With a presentation on hand and documents on desks,
Jonathan began to bring our work to life. The training session was a thorough “beginning to end” sales process, filled with interaction and roleplay.
It is notable how Jonathan goes the extra mile to make sure the trainees fully comprehend the principles behind the sales processes. I, as well as our other colleagues, find him to be very approachable and warm.
We seldom find a sales coach that can be as dedicated, as knowledgeable, and as passionate as Jonathan is. He has a way of explaining things that makes it easier for the trainees and even the veterans to grasp.
